Ministries

United States

In February of 1980 Rev. Daniel Lee (the current President of Little Spark Mission) was invited to train a group of spiritually hungry high school students that called themselves the “Little Spark.” Rev. Daniel Lee had only arrived to the United States with his wife Lydia Lee a couple years earlier following the calling of God to make disciples, a ministry he been trained in and committed to already for nearly a decade.  This group called the “Little Spark” was itself only two years old, having started with a weekly bible study of four young people from John F. Kennedy High School, under the leadership of one of the students named Paul Y. Lee.

Rev. Lee began to teach these high school students about the life

of being a disciple of Christ and trained them in how to make disciples of Christ.  Soon these high school students were scattered across Southern California as they were accepted to various colleges in that region.  As a result, many campus ministries were opened across southern California. In November of 1988, Rev. Daniel Lee became a full time staff member of Little Spark Mission and was later joined by Paul Lee in 1989.

We currently have existing ministries in college campuses in California and Colorado. As students are graduating, we are encouraged to see many of them influence and impact others for Christ in their churches, workplaces, and communities.  We are excited to see more and more college students carry the gospel and discipleship into every context God places them in.

Latin America

Since 1998, LSM has been sending short-term missionary to Central America to make and train disciples. The “Timothy Academy,” our Latin American counterpart to the Little Spark Training program here in the States, was soon born out of these cross-cultural training programs and the special guidance of Pastor Daniel Lee (founder of Little Spark Missions). The Timothy team consists of brothers and sisters from Nicaragua, Guatemala, and four areas of Honduras.

To support our brothers and sisters in Latin America, each summer

a group of U.S. college students from various cities within our ministry form a short missions team, now affectionately called, “Hondemala,” to share Little Spark principles and help evangelize to reinforce the work the Timothy Academy is carry on throughout the year. With every visit we reap testimonies of salvation and sanctification from the locales and from within our very own team. Lives are always being changed. For years now, our hermanos and hermanas in Central America have been laboring to be and make disciples. Their faithfulness and passion for the Lord and His people have served as a living examples of what the Lord is able to do and a visual actualization of our heart and prayers for all of Latin America. Because of the personal sacrifice and strong commitment to the Lord of each Timothy member for all these years, we are encouraged to see the third generation of disciples being raised in Central America!

The future of Central America is exciting and hopeful as the Timothy Team is in the process of praying and strategizing to reach out to neighboring countries like Nicaragua, El Salvador, and Costa Rica.

Ukraine

In 2005, a six-person team from Little Spark Missions first ventured out to the Eastern European country of Ukraine under the leadership of Pastor Daniel Lee. Through the connection of Pastor Lee’s long time friend Missionary Im in Kiev, the two co-laborers in the Lord caught the vision of discipleship for Ukraine.

Because of the unique location of Ukraine between free Western Europe and Post-Communist Eastern Europe, the country was often referred to as the “end of the earth” and soon identified as a strategic hot spot to reach both Western and Eastern Europe. Though the location of the country seemed a great place to plant the discipleship vision, it was the hearts of the people there that made Ukraine truly optimal to share and entrust the gospel. Then, only fourteen years out of communism, the people of Ukraine responded to the gospel of Christ and His invitation to be and make disciples with great enthusiasm and an eagerness to learn. Since 2005, our short-term mission team has visited Ukraine each summer with training programs and principles to encourage our brothers and sisters there. Every year our teams are met with teachable hearts and a hunger to receive and apply the Word of God in their lives. The prayer for Ukraine is to train people who will reach out to at least five of its neighboring countries.

Who We Are

Our ministry's distinctive is training, equipping people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and discipleship.  We want to see all of our members living missionally, passing on the gospel and a lifestyle of following Christ as a disciple to others.
